Beginning as a writer of children's fantasy (ok, she was a child when she wrote it), Rain went on to co-create and co-write wacky TV pilot Pickled Prozak with Jessica Lily and Sean Baxter. Discerning viewers have described it as akin to The Mighty Boosh and The Young Ones.
With a Bachelor of Communication from Monash University, Rain has studied writing for TV at Australia's leading screenwriting school AFTRS and in Los Angeles under coach to Academy Award winners Corey Mandell.
Rain co-wrote and co-produced the short film Deep-Seeded, assembling a top notch team including accomplished screen producer Pennie Brown and veteran TV director Nicholas Bufalo. Rain's feature film Shelter, written with Adam Patrick Foster, was a Finalist in the We Screenplay Feature Competition.
Rain co-created the award winning comedy series Two Refugees and a Blonde with Osamah Sami and Shahin Shafaei, which has screened at festivals around the world and appeared on ABC TV. It has since been selected for development by Australian producers Andy McIntyre and Nicole Dixon, the Australian representatives for North American comedy giant Just for Laughs TV.
In late 2015, Rain was one of 30 Melbourne screenwriters selected for Michael Rowe's (Cannes Golden Camera Award winner) screenwriting workshop, where she wrote her first solo feature film. In 2016, she was one of 17 students to complete a second draft workshop with Michael Rowe.
In 2017, Rain developed a half-hour family comedy based on the ashram she grew up on, which has already received interest from producers in Australia and Los Angeles.
Rain also has a short film, web series and female-driven comedy feature film in development. She likes to laugh mostly, and cry a little bit.
